Quotes for the First Day of 2009

Borrowed a bunch of books for a research project and found some great quotes for the first day of 2009 I wanted to share with you.

“The purpose of life is the journey.” – Unknown

“Learn to love yourself forever and you’ll be loved forever.” – Daniel Rutley

“The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.” – Darlene Mininni

“When the outcome is more important to you than the activity, you are in a power struggle… Power struggles occur because the participants feel powerless and they choose to pursue external power.” – Gary Zukav

“Creating authentic power is using your will to change your life, not the lives of others.” – Gary Zukav

"This is me taking control of my life. What the —- have you done lately?" – Wanted (film)

This film demonstrates self-empowerment.

Fantastic acting, including the beautiful Angelina Jolie and legendary Morgan Freeman… excitement… money (from negative to $3 mio+ to 2 digits)… adventure… endurance… skill (knives to sideways/upside down driving and curving bullets)… humor… uncertainty… certainty… triumph…

It was surely more than bloody, however, the struggle and bittersweet triumph of the hero fused with special effects illustrated the message loud and clear.

The last line was delivered summing up his journey to that point, then posing the question to viewers to harness their own power.

Yeah, that’s what it’s all about.

"I claim my power now." – Louise Hay

“I claim my power now.” – Louise Hay

This quote is actually part of another sentence about speaking up for ourselves. I like that too, however, I feel this sentence alone cuts through the “stuff,” and helps me focus instantly.

I love when people are aware of and live from their innate power. It subtracts from the ego tripping, fear-driven motivation, and addiction to negativity.

What I’ve learned is to acknowledge my darkness, knowing negativity balances us.

We need the darkness to see the light…

We need the yin and the yang.
