Find the Joy in Your Life

Saw the beautiful and enriching movie The Bucket List. It’s one of my favorites recently since Enchanted!

Directed by Rob Reiner, it stars brilliant actors Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. I think it brought everyone to tears in the theater.

Two questions asked in the film that we can ask ourselves:
1) Do you have joy in your life?
2) Do others have joy in their lives because of you?

The Words You Use

Here’s an Okinawan saying and English translation from a bookmark that was given for Girl’s Day from the Okinawan Club Itoman Shijin Kai that continues to resonate with me:

Kutubaa. Jin chikee.

Spend words as efficiently as money.

Words are powerful. Our subconscious minds can’t tell if we’re kidding or not. Words we say are things, and are illustrating our world as we speak. If we can be cognizant of saying words that are of value to ourselves and others, instead of storms, we can create rainbows.
